Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey was born in 1954 in rural Mississippi and raised in Milwaukee. She grew up in poverty and was the victim of abuse. After moving to Memphis to live with her father, Oprah got her first break as a news reporter on a local radio station. She went on to become a TV talk show host, producer, actress, author, philanthropist, influencer and “Queen of All Media.”

Why this stop? Oprah’s career took off in Chicago where her syndicated daily talk show was filmed. Harpo Studio was located two blocks from the Morgan Green Line/Pink Line station.
