San Luong O

San Luong O was working as a Saigon school principal and translator when she was given the opportunity to go to the US. Timing was on her side—just hours after her plane took off, the airport was bombed. First settling in New York, Ms. Luong O studied social work at Columbia University. A job offer from Chicago came and she began her social work vocation first with Asian Human Services. She then helped create the South-East Asia Center which today offers services for pre-schoolers through senior citizens. San Luong O holds the position of Executive Director of the South-East Asia Center.
